Solid performance. For my first PL, I was very impressed. Though having never smoked a PL before I would struggle to describe the taste (as I'm simply not used to it). First third was sweet, kinda milky. Second third intensified, the sweet milkiness was probably caramel by this stage. Last third - crikey the burn was crap! But for a couple of minutes, had a massive injection of vanilla and caramel, which unfortunately disappeared as quickly as it came. Decent cigar, great vitola! --- 05 had one the other day which was from a 2005 box. splendid sweet taste which had the taste of almonds, caramel and toffe. got a lot of complexity from this cigar and the smoke fume had such a wonderful aroma. i had never smelt anything like it. if i manage to find more of these (not sure i have seen them before but maybee) i would definately buy more. higly reccomended. - Submitted by jaz on September 10, 2009

JAN 07 Οταν αγορασα την 50αδα ημουν ενθουσιασμενος.Και οντως αξιζαν.Εμφανιση super,δαχτυλιδι ονειρο.Ηταν βεβαια και ακριβα.Μολις αναψα το πρωτο γεμισα με κατι γηινο ,herbal, σαν βοτανικος κηπος ηταν.Μετα την μεση ισσοροπισε αρκετα,γλυκανε και εγινε πιο σοκολατε.Δεν ξερω γιατι,μετα απο εναν χρονο στο humi μου,βαρυνε πολυ και τα αρωματα του μπερδευτικαν, παρ οτι η καυση του εγινε καλυτερη(ηταν πολυ υγρα οταν τα αγορασα). - Submitted by jorjis on August 6, 2009

Review #93:

Por Larranaga are my favourite. The petit is one I haven't tried for some time. At first light a hit of tobacco. Some cream and sugar as the cigar settled, but the larger PL sizes have a true Cuban taste with peppery notes and a wash of toast. The stick I smoked was only a year old, some green tobacco inside. I think smoking from an older box will present the flavours of the tobacco more. One criticism is that the PL lines tend to be poorly rolled. Some sticks are great in construction, others, like this one, aren't. I had to re-light this stick twice. The PL Panatelas that my company were smoking stayed lit.
