Review #87: My first encounter with this particular cigar occured during my childhood. Then I did not smoke one (except in passive manner), but its pleasant room note impressed me then. The old fellow who smoked the cigar had removed the golden band before lighting the cigar, and gave the band to me, and later I placed that band into my collection of postage stamps, to be found again just few years ago, like a reminder about an excellent cigar. Recently I was able to obtain few Por Larranaga Petit Coronas, as single cigars, so, not certain about year of manufacture, but I guess that either 06 or 07 Neat appearing and well constructed. Cold aroma is like old hay, first impression flavor was fairly mild. Excellent draw for Mareva size format (actually far better draw than in some Cohiba Siglo VI's I have encountered, which felt somewhat clogged although massive toro in size). I prefer this as the best one of the Mareva size cigars (in comparsion with Monte #4 and Siglo II), and very reasonable price makes it excellent value for money. As during smoking this cigar, after relatively mild beginning (first inch), the flavors which start appear, there's clear hint of caramel, cream, and even a slight hint of mild milk chocolate. And after reaching over half of the cigar, there is smooth strength, like in Bailey's Cream Liqueur (well, having a glass of Scotch while smoking this cigar no doubt played its role, but excellent combination anyway, Scotch and this cigar). Due relative mildness of this cigar, there is a tendency to smoke it to almost last inch (so, remove the fancy golden band in advance), and it certainly tells something about the pleasant character of this cigar... Excellent cigar for every possible moment to have a great little cigar, either to celebrate some little achievement, or just for relaxing moment between work tasks, or as after lunch cigar, or a cigar to be enjoyed during quiet evening. Also due its good nature, an excellent cigar for the beginner. One of my few Por Larranaga cigars I consumed in fairly hasty manner while had got sudden massive migraine few minutes earlier, and it proved to be excellent treatment for migraine, as while I had finished the cigar.., headache had already disappeared... So, there is also the needed nicotine kick hidden under the mild and pleasant appearance, but nothing excessive. No doubt, I will get a box of 50 of these excellent cigars ASAP to fill one part of my humidor. These excellent cigars really satisfy. Full five star recommendation, this is excellent cigar, best Mareva size cigar you can get. - Submitted by Chimney1966 on February 24, 2009

Review #86: JUN 08 Love this cigar. The ones I have are cabinet of 50 jun08. Great right out of the box. Excellent construction, full of flavor, perfect draw and lots of creamy smoke. Very enjoyable as a mid afternoon after lunch smoke. By far superior to Siglo II at a much cheaper price. Must be kept in humidor. - Submitted by ericbmf on February 19, 2009

Review #85: I'm not very sure the box-date as i bought them i singles. It's an impressive cigar with good-presentation, light-aroma and even-burn. There's not any problem all the way long and it was recommended to be a day-time item. I just order a box of 50..great confident it will be excellent after aging. - Submitted by ericryan on December 30, 2008

Review #84: JUL 07 This cigar is a staple in my humidor, my favorite Mareva. I cracked a new box EMA JUL 07, just over a year old. The smell at cold was indeed wonderful. I was smelling cigar for some time before lighting it up. Started rather mild, not very complex. Taste was smooth with flavors of earth, coffee and cream but not too intense. Later on I noticed some caramel. This PLPC was not as rich and full as expected and probably needs some additional time to rest but it will become a true gem in next few months. - Submitted by Diademo on December 9, 2008
