Review #20: Just finished another from a box PEL DIC 03, with the old embossed limitada bands. What a true treasure of the Partagas name. The prelight aromas of only a well aged partagas are present. The flavors and aromas are truly marvelous, very, very, very, strong and well aged tobaccos are at the core, intertwined with dark swiss chocolate, oily italian espresso, pure vanilla, fresh noughat and prailines to give the xtra kick. The ash is bright white with nary a tad of marbeling, the wrapper dark oily almost black maduro color. Packed as tight as a brick, and no problems with the draw at all. - Submitted by bigyesta on March 8, 2005

Review #19: TO REVIEWER 18 LEE, ARE THE LIMITED BANDS EMBOSSED OR SMOOTH, THE EMBOSSED ONES ARE OUTSTANDING, THE ONES WITH THE SMOOTH LIMITADA BANDS ARE OF LOWER QUALITY. MY BOX IS FROM DEC 03 AS WELL, WITH THE EMBOSSED LIMITADA BANDS, THE WRAPPERS ARE DARK OILY ALMOST A MADURO COLOR, THE ASH IS SOLID WHITE WITH LITTLE MARBELING, THE AROMAS AND FLAVORS ARE TRULY LIMITED EDITION, ONE OF A KIND PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR LABEL TYPE AND BOX CODE, I WILL TRY AND HELP - Submitted by bigyesta on March 7, 2005

Review #18: Hello Cigar Experts - I have a newly acquired box of P Series 2 D LE marked: EAT DEC03. I assume these are the orphaned? PS - I will rate after trying one - I just smoked a VERY disappointing Hoyo LE Pyramid. – Perhaps the box (DEC03) is still young? Unfortunately(?) I have just replenished my humidor with a purchase of 12 LE boxes out of Canada. I'd be happy to share the box codes if anyone can help me to sort through the LE generational issues... but after my experience with the Hoyo PLE, I fear the worst. To honest, I really am weary of trying to find good Cubans - from reading in Aficionado I got the impression that many of the quality issues had been sorted out, hence my purchase. - Apparently not... - Submitted by Lee on February 12, 2005

Review #17: The cigar with EUN MAR 03 is roughly crafted, but I must say it is one of the best cigars I've had to date. A very intense and aromatic cigar and one that has a nice mellow and sweet spice. Good smoke volume and a darker wrapper, perhaps a maduro and one that offers a beautiful white ash. I can't wait to go through the box. - Submitted by Ken J. on January 16, 2005

Review #16: My wife has relatives that live in cuba and her aunt works in a tobacco factory, she has validated the theory that the tobaccos used in second and third runs of the EL SERIES of all brands some times is inferior to the origial run. What happens is they run out of the original blend that they use in the beginning and once they start selling them, rather than say they dont have any of the original tobacco left they substitute what ever is close. Some times the fillers are not even from the same fields, they use what ever they have the most of. Even the wrappers are changed if they run out of the originals, this is most evident in this model, the original D2 from 03 had a dark oily maduro wrapper, virtually veinless, when they sold out of the originals, they substituted the veinier less oily wrappers, to tell the difference they used the EL rings with out the embossing, this was an internal thing. Even though she works in the factory she can not get me any cigars, not any that are original any way. Just some food for thought for every one who was wandering about the EL series. - Submitted by THEDOCTOR on December 16, 2004
