Review #40: --- 07 SLB 25 - great even colour and construction, draw perfectly. Same flavour as always - wonderful cigar. Med strength but powerful taste - lip smacking creamy, nutty, pungent. - Submitted by ian on May 14, 2008

Review #39: This cigar is at the top in my book. Even very young the Epicure No. 1 smokes great. Plus, throw a few years under its belt, and you have a classic! You can really taste the cuban tobacco flavor coming through here. Which is definitely a good thing. It also brings light spice, with just a hint of sweetness in the second third of the cigar. Great flavors abound from this HOYO. In my opinion the clear cut winner out of the 2 epicures offered.. This cigar will continue to open eyes. - Submitted by 4063624 on March 25, 2008

Review #38: I don’t know exactly why, but IMO this is one of most overlooked cigars from Cuban “big names” at this power spectrum. Not as popular as No.2 but for sure one of the most remarkable Coronas Gordas, which I put side by side with Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1. After smoking many poor specimens from 2000 and 2001 they are finally back with production of 2003 and latterly I’m smoking mostly excellent Epi 1. This one was still a bit to young (EAM NOV 05) but on the way to become really exceptional. Almost Maduro wrapper was one of the silkiest I’ve seen in months and construction seemed firm. The initial draws were on the light side but with great deal of complexity. From there everything became only better. Cigar turned to medium strength with rounded and mature flavors of cream, wood and cacao. Few times jumped out some rough notes but everything stayed in control, very smooth and balanced. Only in the last centimeter appeared some harshness, what was clear sign of youth. In year of two this will become one of the best medium bodied cigars. I was drinking slightly oaked white wine but probably would be a better choice a bottle of lighter red (maybe a nice Burgundy). - Submitted by Diademo on March 17, 2008

Review #37: Very distinctive floral, almost fruity flavor. First third wasn't great, but filled out nicely after that. Mild for my taste, but good to have around if you feel like a lighter smoke. - Submitted by Goldenberg on March 16, 2008

Review #36: Currently smoking through a cab from 11/00and find myself very pleased. Medium in body, the flavors come across on the palate as quite refined and balanced. They include woodsy notes, light spice, and nutmeg. No construction issues and volumes of tasty smoke. Will be looking to pick up another cab or three asap! - Submitted by knuck42 on March 7, 2008
