APR 08 I have just bought my third box of these babies. First of all, I have to say that I'm not usually a fan of Partagas cigars. For me they tend to be just too peppery and by the time you're half way through them they tend to be too hot and too strong. Ironically the exceptions are the Lucitania and the Short, two cigars at both ends of the vitola scale. The first time I smoked a Partagas short was a revelation. It had a beautiful, rich cocoa coloured wrapper and was perfectly constructed. Then came the smoke. I couldn't believe the volume of smoke it made - they put some robustos to shame. The flavours were all classic Cuba - cedar, cocoa, leather, pepper and cinammon. I try and find the ones withthe darkes wrappers. It may be psychological but they seem to produce the fullest flavoured smoke. My latest box is an 08. The cigars are not as dark as the previous and they seem a little less rich, althoughexperience has shown that they'll fill out a bit with about a year in the humidor. --- 06 Just to start with, to be honest, I'm not a rookie with this baby grandpa. Somebody called It D4's son. Not at all, rather Lusitania's grandson: straightforward dry body, easy to get harsh over compulsive drawing in perfect Partagas' style, yet embedded in a subtle structure of aromas: not so many but well harmonized in a sober and stark, I'd say old style,way. Never tiresome throughout the smoking experience. (for sure you have to love puros in the ancient Cuban interpretation). Mind you! It holds a secret.....: let it take its time. This is a smart burner and won't let you down searching for a light. Let It cool down and play around on thin ice...at worst you will have to search for a quick re-start...sure, it's only my opinion, yet i think this is the only way to tackle this style of cigar.That's why I love Partagas too. Not a psychedelic aroma experience but you will never get bored with them....a naturally due permanent flooring at the bottom of your humi. Special warning: should you decide to start smoking puros, please beware of it. This is not because it's especially strong...not at all. Simply this is for smokers having little bit experience with drawing skill and a conveniently "carpeted" mouth in order to withstand its straightforward body while still able to discern and enjoy its austere, somehow narrow but extremely well balanced palette of very traditional Cuban aromas.SLB 50 highly recommended. - Submitted by lobello on June 5, 2009

Review #112:

Partagas are cigars that I tend to go to rarely. I don't love them as some do. Strong cigars, yes. However tend to start with a spike of pepper, lose their intensity and rolls slowly into harshness. The short is no different as it starts with a nice pepper spike on the tongue, moves into a swarming creaminess. Burns perfectly with a nice compact ash. In the end a short smoke and with a low aftertaste which is nice if you don't feel like tasting it all day. - Submitted by Marcel Z on May 12, 2009

Review #111: berlin 120...I have not had the pleasure of smoking the RASCC but I have smoked quite a few RASS and have found them loaded with flavor...maybe a little too powerful for me though. Review #110:

MAY 06 Managed to get my hands on an aged box of Shorts recently. I've loved every Partagas ive smoked, until now. I don't know what it is but the couple i have smoked from this box were not as described. I have no previous experience with the Short but one would expect the Partagas taste profile. While construction, burn and draw were all up to par, the taste however was rather flat. Perhaps i have a bad box. - Submitted by KoukiS14 on March 26, 2009
