Young or old these prominente are the least competitive of all its' cousins in the same size category. I enjoy Partagas very much, but would choose these last. The best of prominentes in my opinion is the Hoyo. - Submitted by semery74 on January 12, 2007

Review #61:

i just had my second one from a box from 2001 and i was rather dissapointed the flavour and smell where still there at first and it was good but the cigar kept dying out, and i had to relight it 5 to 6 times which caused the flavour to become bitter and unpleasant. My humidity is ranging from 40 to 50 which is rather fine if not drier as such i cant understand why it kept dying out. i had tried one dated june 2005 and its was good but not great, but yesterday i found a vintage box dating back to 2001 and i must say the difference is vast it was smooth almost silky to the flavour and the start was a little tight but 2/3 in and it was great. Really could taste the partagas flavour i reckon the 2005 would be good in a few years but right now this 2001 box is HEAVENLY!. Great Great Cigar. There are two options when it comes to the Lusitanias: they are either not for you, or you just can't live without them. It is really a masterpiece (I don't believe in saying it's the best DC because the Hoyo DC and Punch DC are masterpieces themselves). Just the feel of this cigar in your hand makes you feel on top of the world. The one I smoked last Saturday (and just a few hours after smoking a Hoyo Double Corona) at a wedding was still a bit young. Nevertheless that distinct Lusitania taste and smell was there. Full bodied and strong delivered masses of rich tastes to the palate and dense clouds of smoke. Spicy with some harsh woodiness (which wasn't unpleasant but I suspect mellows out with age). If you are after a full-bodied and qualitive smoke search no more. Few last words: AGE THEM and you will not regret it. - Submitted by PDL on November 27, 2006
