Partagas Churchills de Luxe Review:

The main impression when trying to describe this cigar is that it is a complicated cigar. There are a lot of sensations that can come to a smokers mind when trying it. It is strong, with intense aromas and flavours. Not at all easy to enjoy if you are a rookie.

Review #26: OCT 13 Very good cigar. Lots of flavour of cedar and lots of smoke. Burn is even and ash is strong and full with satisfying thud when it falls off. - Submitted by jdelrizzo on December 17, 2015

Review #25: FEB 01 Excellent cigar 0n my second box now, slightly on the mild side as most churchills are. - Submitted by paul watson on May 4, 2014

Review #24: --- 01 Following my previous review, with some more time in the humidor and a couple of sticks later, I am compelled to upgrade the score. More intensity and fragrance of smoke. Increased interplay of flavours, significant complexity, better graduation of spice and more balance. Burns dead even. Timeless, a classic, quintessential. - Submitted by sengjc on June 23, 2010

Review #23: --- 01 Second take on this particular stick. Similar to before but this particular example was lacking in spice and vibrancy of flavours from the one previously reviewed. What happened here? - Submitted by sengjc on June 10, 2010

Review #22: --- 01 Managed to get a 5-pack selected from a few boxes when one of the local cigar merchant had a clearance. Cannot remember the exact month but the production year was 2001 on all the boxes. The cigar looked a little dry so they went into the humidor about 3 months ago and today I decided to light one up. Selected the worst possible example out of my 5-pack selection: mottled and crackily wrapper with some specks of green but smooth with a light sheen of oil, also onset of mold. Starts off earthy with all manner of aromatic woods, very smooth and rounded flavours. Flavours build up with more wood and some sweet chocolate developing which becomes more coffeeish as you progress. Earthiness intensifies along with spice levels and the vibrant flavours become mellow. Quite strong in terms of nicotine kick and flavours but overall I found it quite balanced and delicious with a lovely lingering aftertaste of spice and wood. The stick is generously filled which made the draw a little tight. This improves if you gently massage the tip a little which increases the opulence of the smoke. Burns even and long, took me nearly a full hour to get to the final third. I must say that the wrapper is very fine almost wafer thin, attesting to the skill of the torcedor. However, it is obviously too thin to qualify it for long term aging. Around the final third, the wrapper virtually disintegrated and flaked off. Proper smoking technic and full attention will be required if you want to fully enjoy this delicate stick but you will definitely enjoy it. A different expression of Partagas. - Submitted by sengjc on May 23, 2010
