Review #9: Great smoke -- literally. The draw and burn were primo on my two recent London-purchased Bonitas. And loved the mild taste enough to buy a box. - Submitted by carld on February 4, 2007

Review #8: Good Construction, full flower, too small ! Realy good cigar for a very good price - Submitted by krishmetz on January 25, 2007

Review #7: The only Bolivar I tried before this was a Belicoso Fino, which I found very disappointing. Maybe it didn't age enough, but the taste lacked complexity and I didn't like the heavy roughness it offered. But, I give every brand a second chance. Thank god I do, because if I had decided Partagas wasn't all that after one De Luxe, I wouldn't have experienced the Lusitanias or Shorts. And it's a good thing that I tried Bolivar again, or I would have missed this... At first sight, this doesn't look as spectacular as the other offerings from this brand. The wrapper looks less smooth, and in the box I saw the cigars seemed of a less prestiguous construction, with wrappers that had some dark spots. But looks can be deceiving, as I soon noticed when I lit one of these and found it inifnitely more rewarding than the Belicoso from the start. I was slightly concerned about the draw , because it appeared somewhat tight after cutting. But somehow, inverse from what I expected, it got looser after lighting! The draw then proved to perfectly suit my taste right to the end: somewhat heavy, but without obstructing the smoke, which poured through at full force. And the taste it delivered was wonderful. It started off with much coffee, some leather and earthy tones. After that the cigar seemed to prepare itself for the surprise it had in store after smoking the first third: a lovely creaminess set in, which then remained for the duration of the smoking time. It stepped up to take the front stage in the second third part, and then magically settled next to the recurring coffee aroma in the last third without getting it its way, making this a wonderfully balanced smoke that showed a stunning amount of variation in short time. I reached the turning point after about 45 minutes, with a total smoking time of somewhat over 50 minutes. Mind that I'm a slow smoker, and this was one stick I wanted to finish to the nub. Bolivar promoted itself from something I was wary of to one of the brands I'm now eager to examinate further, all with this unexpected surprise. Did I mention the burn was perfect too? I was thinking of giving this 7 out of 10, which is a pretty good score for my way of counting, seeing as I reserve anything higher for the truly sublime Cubans. But this cigar gave me such a good time, without holding any unpleasantry at all, that I'm going to give it 8 out of 10. It made me remember all over why I smoke cigars. There's only one downside, which is hardly negative really: it's a small format and develops so fast, that you'll wish it could just last a bit longer. Only two ways to go then: try a bigger Bolivar, or just light another one! - Submitted by Nekotaku on April 2, 2006

Review #6: I've just started my first box of these, and first impressions are of a fantastic, thick, distinct taste with buckets of smoke. Powerful little sticks! Very enjoyable. - Submitted by jrtbloke on April 1, 2006
