Review #136: Great cigar!! No more needs to be said! - Submitted by cshort on September 10, 2008

Review #135: DEC 07 Just obtained a cabinet via mail. All had dark, oily wrappers and appeared flawless. A light pinch showed nice resiliance but I thought them a little over humidified for my taste. I sampled one right from the package without allowing time for stabilization in my humidor. The tip clipped cleanly. Lighting was a bit of a chore but the draw was perfect. The ash was the appropriate flecked grey and hung on for the first third of the smoke. The burn seesawed a little but never required a re-light or adjustment. The flavor was appropriately disjointed and included the slightest amonia tinge... totally expected for such a young cigar. Flavor profile was floral and cedary developing some honey as it went. Oddly, a VERY strong cigar delivering copious amounts of smoke but a hint of lavender instead of the expected pepper. Nice! A LOOOOOONG finish but so fresh. The taste lasted for a good hour after the smoke was done but without making me feel like the entire French Foriegn Legion just marched barefoot across my tongue. Delightful. Given time for the flavors to integrate and for the cigars to reach equilibrium at the appropriate humidification (I prefer 65-67%)this batch of Bolis show blockbuster potential. They should age fabulously. Highly recomended. - Submitted by greg258 on August 3, 2008

Review #134: I think this vitola is very good, but not one of the greats. I simply don't see the depth of flavor that I'm seeing others experience, and that I experience when smoking some of the truly great cigars (IMHO). Granted, mine have not been aged beyond 3-4 months, but I've found Bolivars in general to be a little - and I stress a little - flat when compared to other full-bodied vitolas. Not sure how else to describe it, but something's lacking. Still, wonderfully consistent, full and rich, albeit not overly complex, flavor and a great cigar to have around. If I had the patience, I'd let them age for 5 years and perhaps experience other positive qualities in this vitola, but I do not. - Submitted by Goldenberg on August 3, 2008

- Submitted by cipu on July 31, 2008

Review #132: Just smoked one yesterday in my parents greenhouse. The sun was settling down and I got sprinkled with rays of soft summer light through all the plants and flowers. In my hand was the Belicoso. After discovering the impeccable draw and the soft white ash, i suddenly realized.. this is just my kind of cigar. I love several cigars in the Habanos portfolio, but very few impresses me in a profound way. The Bolivar Belicosos Finos surely does. It is so smoothe, so silky and so delicious! All the taste and aroma you can get from a full bodied smoke, yet at the same time, it is soft and caressing on the palate. I have never had a bad Belicoso and as soon as I get around to it, I will buy a cab and watch these precious things age as they would be my own children. For they truly deserve our attention. Pure magic. - Submitted by oblazt on June 30, 2008
