- Submitted by nacho on September 23, 2007
Review #7: Smoked 1 from a box of 97 as recommended by the cigar merchant. The flavour is pure cuban old school. The rich bitter chocolate and coffee is the first thing that hits me. The construction and draw was perfect and the price is very reasonable. The last stage was a shocker as the strength left me in my chair for awhile. I was so impressed by this cigar that I boughtthe box for my collection. I guess you need to age this cigar for at least 10 years to get the best out of it. There is not much of a cigar bouquet, which is great for indoor smoke. - Submitted by pak on September 2, 2007
Review #6: Just smoked a single one of these. It´s very similar to the Vegueros No.1 in terms of mild, elegant aroma. Unfortunately I had to sacrifice the last third due to some harsh sharpness. Complementary to review #5 I found the Montecristo Especiales No.2 to be far better with it´s intense aroma. - Submitted by speedy gonzales on August 31, 2007
Review #5: A very nice Laguito No. 2, to be sure; much better than the Monte Especial No. 2 that I had, and at a fraction of the price. This cigar exhibited a very nice draw, neither too easy nor too hard, and excellent flavours throughout. I detected grass and coffee, along with the classic taste of good Cuban tobacco. This cigar had a certain "bite" to it as well, not unlike a good whisky. Perhaps this cigar was not overly complex, but it is no slouch either. Highly recommended if you can get them. - Submitted by agraupe on July 24, 2007
Review #4: The Especial no. 2 I just smoked, paired with a couple Buchanan's on the rocks, confirmed my thoughts about this cuban marca. These are very similar to the Vegueros marevas, mild-medium strength smokes, with a lovely aroma (flowers and honey were the predominant flavors), and a very good constrution. I still would not buy a whole box, but I find them a very good "change of pace" smoke. Sweet, mild and straight. - Submitted by Estrella on May 29, 2006
