Review #100: JUN 07 I’ve got these Famosos in December 2009 and today I cracked the box to check how deep I have to bury it in my humidor. With code LPM JUN 07 I was expecting rather young cigar for VR I but was pleasantly surprised. Cigar had good construction, darker Colorado wrapper and perfect, little resistant draw. Medium body flavor was soaked with typical Robaina taste of coffee and earth, with some chocolate in the background. It was very consistent, without increased strength at the end. Nevertheless that is more than smokable right now; there are still rough corners that need to be smoother in a year or so. I will try one in the next sixth months but probably will be ready for regular smoking in a year’s time. - Submitted by Diademo on July 5, 2010

Review #99: ---   Bought a few of these cigars from a cardbord pack of five. Presentation is beautifull with oily medium brown veineless wrapper and a very nice band. Cigars were rolled perfectly without any soft spots and had a good weight in the hand. So far so good. All the cigars also had an excellent draw and even slow burn. After cutting and lighting the first cigar a discrete and very pleasant aroma developed and different tastes started to appear. Now I would like to point out that I actually dont write my tasting notes down while smoking the cigar, but had this time decide to do so. Amount of complexity found in the first of the Vegas Robaina Famosos was beyond anything I had expirienced so far. The cigar started with medium strenght and the flavors were changing with every puff(in my case thats about two small puffs taken per minute). The cigar opened with nice dry cocoa taste just to be replaced by a combination of vanilla, spice and cream with a touch black pepper at the end of the long finish. Black pepper than dissapeared leaving room for spice, cocoa and cream. In the next few puffs there were some leather, wood and slightly sweet notes. Changing of the flavors continued once more with black pepper joining the aforementioned combination but this time the sweetness was not present. Spice and black pepper now remained with just a touch of ginger bread. Smoking on the leather returned amongst the spice and wood notes with just a bit of the sweetness this time. Now here is where I need to stop and say that this was still the first third of the smoke. If only the cigar progressed this way or atleast retained the flavors it had thus far but instead it became quite harsh with more pronounced leather and just a little bit of spice remaining like this and ending with medium-full strenght. Besides being dissapointed with the rest two thirds of the cigar, having started the way it did, this was a very interesting expirience. The next few VR Famosos I smoked in the upcoming days had all the positive characteristics , construction and flavor wise, of the first cigar that I had smoked and flavor presence and evolution were equally distributed through the entire smoking time of 1h45 minutes. Despite the first cigar of the bunch the rest turned out to be very satisfying in terms of flavor, smoking time and price of about 14 USD per stick which IMO makes the VR Famosos a solid cigar. - Submitted by promajk on June 26, 2010

Review #96: ---   I love the factory size Hermoso No.4. Elegant in the hand and mouth, I love the draw of the size. The Vegas Robaina is no exception. A sweet tasting tobacco, cherries. The middle was tart, a nice tobacco cedar finish. I will smoke these again. Great brand. - Submitted by Marcel Z on May 11, 2010
