Review #69: ---   After a longer than expected sojourn into non-Cubans, of which some more gems of which the most noteworhty being the Puros Indios & Reyes Family line of cigars, I started with the Cubans again, the first being a Partagas 898 unvarnished, the last in my humidor, which was plugged, hence quite a disappointment, and then this. This stick is also my second foray into this brand, the first being a Reyes in Singapore while on vacation last year which was very impressive. This stick bears the old band circa 1997 - 2003 so the cigar is quite aged as evident by the white powdery substance on its wrapper. Brushing it off reveals a dark brown and finely veined wrapper with just a hint of oily sheen. Starts off very Hoyo-like with creamy mouthfuls of vanilla and cedar, wait it is changing, now more El Rey del Mundo. There is an underlying sweetness which hints of a Por Larranaga. Very aromatic smoke fill your nostrils. Smooth and fragrant. Becomes a touch earthy with cocoa nutty, caramelly tones, feels like a Romeo y Julieta, wait now it is like a Montecristo. Earthiness advances and cocoa gives way to ground coffee, now it is like a Partagas, maybe a Ramone Allones. Dark chocolate creeps in with aromatic woodiness, reminiscent of a Punch. Come the last third, the spice levels accelerate, now we are in Bolivar territory. Here and there some toffee like notes, Bolivar becomes Saint Luis Rey then back again. A truly complex smoke. I have just finished a heavy dinner yet my mouth is watering in anticipation of the next puff. I took my time to slowly savour every milimeter of the stick, all the full hour and a half, remarkable. Considering its price, this is probably more of a celebratory cigar, and since value is a factor, I would say this is a rating 9 - 9.5, otherwise a 10 for sure. - Submitted by sengjc on May 18, 2010

Review #68: ---   Exceptionally well made, light creamy leather taste. I would rate it higher than a Cohiba Esplendidos having smoked both cigars in Cuba this year. Unfortunately I do not know the box date. - Submitted by panander on January 5, 2010

Review #67: MAR 06 I'm finishing the box of 12. Well looks like i wasted some of them by having accompanying drink , either soft or hard liquor . In both cases this very mild cigar gets killed and overpowered by beverage taste. Those need attention and clean palate.Construction , draw and presentation a+.Just plain beauty. When smoked without any drink , maybe just some ice water to enhance the flavor i find the first third very fruity with some sour notes as well . Second third basically same flavors maybe little more refined and distinct.Still mild and smooth.Last third brings very rich unsweetened coffee .Power upgrades to medium .The finish is long and enjoyable. The burn throughout cigar is good and only one relight was needed. I am enjoying those cigars but the price is ridiculous , plus mild stogies are not my cup of tea.Would never buy a box of 24 or another 12 .Maybe a single from different box code just to compare. IMHO not worth the price , there is better for much less. - Submitted by marius on November 6, 2009

Review #66: ---   I have to agree whole heartedly with review #65. While there are a number of cigars I could praise right now, I don't think of them while smoking this one. - Submitted by HBaker on October 27, 2009

Review #65: MAR 06 Her masters cigar or so, I would describe this great piece of work. Taken from a box which I bought last week. The cigars were manufactured in 2006. Very intensive taste of tobacco - fruity and significant sour or pepper which some say. Minimum 3 years maturing is bringing out a masterpiece of Trinidad cigars. There is some relationship to Bolivar Gold Medal. I love them and the other ones will still mature on an on. Great expecations the next years. - Submitted by Steinmaier on August 24, 2009
