Review #18: Just a note to reviewer 17. The problem with the vegitable gum from the band damaging the wrappers is very common for young cigars. With age the bands become loose. Otherwise what I suggest is don't try and remove the cigar band until you have smoked half the cigar, this way the cigar will warm up and help the bands removal. Also if you gently pinch the band all around, bit by bit, lifting it gently from the cigars wrapper this will help it not tear the leaf before you try sliding it off. Hope this helps :-) - Submitted by A. Dyer on January 6, 2007
Review #17: This cigar is on the top of my list. Very smooth for such a young cigar, and totally lacking any kind of ammonia or other flavors associated with a newer production Habanos. If you lover PSD4's and a stronger flavor profile, this cigar is not for you. If you enjoy a mild, flavorful cigar, buy these by the truckload. My only complaint has been the glue they used to hold the band together. I have damaged the wrapper on 4 outta 4 that I have smoked, just trying to slide the band off the cigar. They used so much glue, it oozed out and onto the wrapper. - Submitted by jcwbnimble on January 6, 2007
Review #16: I'm new to cigars and have been leaning towards robustos over the last month. I found the Short Churchill to be very mild however for me it was an enjoyable smoke. Very consistent from start to finish, easy draw and consistent burn. When I return to Cuba, I'll most likely include a box of these on my list of "to buy" cigars. - Submitted by rainman on January 6, 2007
Review #15: I must dissagree with reviewer 14. This is a mild cigar, not a "bland" cigar, and as much as I adore a good PSD4 or Bolivar RC I still thoroughloy enjoyed the handful of these which I tried. Earlier in the day after a light lunch with a tasty latte. The flavour profile was excellent for a cigar of this youth and will certainly improve with some short ageing. Mild light tan leather notes with gingerbread and cocoa progress throughout with some woody and nutty notes developing through the second half. The spice is minimal and the cigar smoked incredibly cool until I couldn't hold onto the nub any longer. A very enjoyable mild robusto which tops the Hoyo Epicure #2 and El Rey Choix Supreme for me personally. True it's all personal taste as everyone has different taste buds, but if you enjoy a mild cigar sometimes this is one of the best. It does need some maturing to reach it's full potential, naturally. Happy smoking :-) - Submitted by A. Dyer on January 3, 2007
Review #14: I am a big robusto fan as it is the vitola I smoke most often. I was also looking forward to this new entrant from R&J, but after about 15 cigars from 4 diferent boxes, I have concluded that this is a bland cigar with a very lienar and boring taste profile. I agree that it looks wonderful, has good draw and the "tubo" has an atractive design, but the taste falls way short agains other top tier robustos like the PSD4, Cohiba and Bolivar. It is worth a taste, but not a real excitement generator in my book. - Submitted by finidi on January 2, 2007
