Review #27: To reviewer 25 - thank you for your comments,I am not a person who adheres to general consensus but more to personal experience. These cigars were rolled from extra aged and cured leaf and were enjoyed by many at Castros Millenium Party in Havana. I do tend to enjoy fresh Havanas, sometimes an aged one can be great - a lot like wines you never know till you try. FYI I also purchased 2 of the Cohiba jars in 2003 EMS in the UK, one of them was almost unsmokable -tasted damp and musky - the other with the same code was ok. So for an honest but personal review on a particular experience read my reviews and add them to your general consensus or stick em in your pipe and smoke em dude. - Submitted by ian on May 26, 2008

Review #26: JUL 00 Its sad people dont comparison shop when buying this cigar. I bought my 3rd jar online for $550 and I DO have inventory of the same cigar when it was released in 2000 to compare it against. Its the best in the World and buyers should realize that cigar merchants are out for every cent they can squeeze out of a customer. Review #20 is way off base and sounds like he needs to study up. - Submitted by smokee1978 on May 25, 2008

Review #25: jan, that is a very strange statement on these cigars! The general consensus on these is that they are designed and destined for ultra long-term ageing! Sorry to tell you that, but you smoked them all too young! Very sad, as you claim to have smoked three jars of these rare treats. I have many friends who revisit their jars only once a year, and they all claim they get better each year! Personally, I will soon smoke a single stick which I have left to inquire the myth. That said, these are ultra-rare , so 450$ + Costa Rica rings all possible alarm bells with me. - Submitted by Hercule Poirot on May 24, 2008

Review #24: Thought I'd better add my thoughts after seeing the 9.6 rating. I have been fortunate enough to have purchased 3 of these jars at 3 different times from 3 different sources. 2 Jars where EMS and 1 from CDLH. The first jar was bought in the UK when they first appeared (I paid £350.00)smoked the whole lot within a month and found they were very unusual - very mild and not like a typical monte. Having said this I loved them ,very creamy and felt good to hold. Next jar was bought 12 months later and had the same experience. Final jar I bought and smoked in 2003 was not as special as the first 2. From this i deduce that they were better smoked soon after they came out. Don't know where some of these reviews come from but I doubt very much that a genuine jar could be bought now for less than what I paid (£350.00)and also I dont think these cigars would ever develop into strong smokes like recent reviewers have noted. I score 9.5 based on my memeories of the genuine ones I smoked years ago. I would suggest anyone who is offered these for less than $750.00 should forget it. - Submitted by ian on May 23, 2008

Review #23: I bought my jar from a dealer in Costa Rica Just recently (Feb 2008) for a $450 USD, which I agree is low price for a cigar that’s no longer available anywhere else in the market for any price. I have no way to substantiate whether these are the real ones or fake as I don’t have any that was bought in Year 2000 to compare it. Having said so, the cigar is great by all standards, and the jar humidor is really nice. - Submitted by Essam on May 23, 2008
