Review #69: Just finished one of these beauties, theyve been in my humidor for about 3 yrs. Well built, firm, with an almost perfect draw for the hour & ten i smoked it. The white, caramel sweet woody smoke was mouthwatering. Fairly mild in taste, it stayed pretty consistent, with mostly leather and slight coffee notes and at times a hint of sweetness (licorice almost). A great cigar! But they do need time to age. I have many young Montes in my collection and can attest to how even a year or two in the humidor can improve upon an already fine smoke. - Submitted by milt on April 23, 2011

Review #68: JUN 07 The Montecristo 3 is a classic that you can always count on, the flavor is excellent and the draw and burn are always consistent! This is simply a must have. - Submitted by treston on October 16, 2010

Review #67: ---   I would agree with review #66 that this cigar could be stronger but I love the flavor profile. This has become one of my favorite cigars and is excellent for both the novice and seasoned palate. I find it to have flavors of coffee and vanilla with a sweet spice you taste more in the nose than on the palate. - Submitted by pazzman on April 2, 2010

Review #66: ---   Melt in the mouth brilliance. For me, it was mainly coffee and cake flavours, with some pepper in the final third. Mild for most of the way, but full in flavour. Could do with a bit more ligero to give it some balls. - Submitted by Kangaroo495 on February 18, 2010

Review #65: MAR 08 My interest in cigars started four years ago when my wife’s cousin, an avid cigar smoker, introduced me to the Cohiba brand. The power of that cigar (I believe it was an Esplendido) was quite frankly overwhelming but started me on a search for a cigar that I could call my own - something medium in strength with a flavour, construction, draw, and appearance that suited me. Of course, I didn’t have a clue what any of these things meant until I started reading the reviews here and I applied these points of reference to several fine cigars over the years. I have come to realise that the Montecristo No. 3 is my cigar. I find it to be perfectly balanced for the occasional smoker with the smooth tobacco, coffee, and light vanilla tastes so many smokers describe here. My perfect evening consists of my wife and me enjoying a bottle of Baco Noir, she with her book and me with my No. 3; looking up at the stars from my deck. For the occasional smoker or those looking for a medium strength indulgence, this is the perfect cigar. Now, with two humidors of successes and lessons learned, I’m looking forward to an associate’s return from Cuba next month as I have asked him to try to find a box of Montecristo Sublimes LE 2008. If I am lucky enough to get my hands on these, I will be sure to share my thoughts as I step it up to a bolder cigar experience in the Montecristo line. - Submitted by simonkennedy on October 5, 2009
