Review #14: These usually fall into the "good but not great" catagory, but the ones I've been smoking from a mid 06 box are truly outstanding. Strong, rich & earthy- just the way I like them. - Submitted by Bassman on August 24, 2007
Review #13: This is a very pleasant smoke. First third, opens up mildly with hints of chocolate and oak spice. 2nd and final third is where this monty's taste really shines with the classic sweet monty blend combined with the sweet cuban tobacco that you only get from smoking a puro. - Submitted by w724y on February 4, 2007
Review #12: Just had my first Monticristo No.1 at the urging of a friend. After paying $27.00 Cdn. for this, I expected....something better. It's a good cigar, no doubt about that, but not very memorable. The burn was nice and even, with no tunneling or canoeing. The taste was definitely on the mild side, and left me waiting for more. Unfortunately, the " more " never arrived.
I was really hoping for a superb smoke from this cigar, but it didn't happen. - Submitted by W. Merrifield on January 16, 2007
Review #11: Very good smoke. My palate detected flavors of dark chocolate and leather with a bit of vanilla and a tangy spiciness.Finishes very soft and nice.Took almost 2 hours to smoke.I know people will wonde how it took me 2 hours to smoke a lonsdale, but I take my time and fully indulge in the experience.I like Montes more and more every time I try a new vitola.Highly reccomended. - Submitted by afuentelover on June 28, 2006
Review #10: This is one of my favorite habanos, if not my favorite. Smooth and packed with flavor, excellent draw and burn. - Submitted by mick on December 7, 2005
