Montecristo Montecristo Especial No. 2 Review:

Same size as Cohiba Coronas Especiales. Stronger than other with same characteristics, this cigar need a proper ageing to reveal its real potential, minimum five years recommended.

Average user rating

Review #54: ---   Got any aged one - this is an impressive cigar, resembling typical N. 2 flavours, only a bit more round and reminding of antique wood. Extremely refined as if from a different age and time. Loved it !!! - Submitted by Heinrich on April 15, 2018

Review #53: JUN 14 Great stick, much better than today's #2, only problem is that they are hit or miss, some great, some fair. Bought a box, 6 have been superb, 6 just okay. The good ones are really good, the okay ones, still decent. - Submitted by mcwhmv on January 23, 2018

Review #52: MAR 14 Bought a box (3years old) at BKK Airport and had 3 of them right away but to my disappointment 2 worthless being totally plugged! The one with a nice draw was nice with a little spice but creamy smooth. Sorry, only a 5 from me. - Submitted by Johannes Tietze on December 9, 2017

Review #51: OCT 14 This is a classic for me. There were two boxes at La Estrella in Cayo Santa Maria in March. I bought one. Hard to find, but when you do, buy it! This is such a good cigar, even young, despite what reviewer #50 thinks. If new cigar smokers get over the big ring gauge fad and look at a classic like this, they'll so learn what cigar connoisseurs already know. - Submitted by cookj1 on April 8, 2016

Review #50: MAR 14 Ok, Yes great cigar, but I think not as great as it should be. I had 12 in my humidor and I am smoking ones in a while one. Have smoke 8 so far and they are getting better and better. I wouldnt recommend to smoke this cigar though when its young. I did that and it was very disappointing. A year after though, yes, it a really nice cigar. Spicy, creamy and earthy. Draw very good. Burning... not that good. I have to correct and light again once in a while. For me for that kind of cigar I would expect that to be great as well. I hope the other 4 that I still have will be better. - Submitted by gst on June 13, 2015
