Montecristo Edmundo Review:
Named after Edmundo Dantes, hero of Alexandro Dumas' famous novel "The Count of Montecristo", the Edmundo is the first size to be added to Montecristo's standard range since 1971. It is the second new 52 ring gauge, parejo size to be introduced by Habanos, SA within a year. All Edmundos are tripa larga, totalmente a mano - long filler, totally hand made using medium to full-bodied blend of Vuelta Abajo Tobaccos that deliver the classic, bitter-sweet, tangy flavour that has made Montecristo the world's most popular Havana cigar brand.

Review #105: I see pretty good potential in this smoke. A great size with beautiful construction, this sample was from a 2006 box. Started with nice dense flavors of earthiness and wood, medium strength ... slight spice on the finish. The flavor quickly hollowed out after the first 1/3. I probably will leave these alone for a few years before trying again. - Submitted by fabio on November 1, 2007
- Submitted by nacho on October 7, 2007
Review #103: Great smoke from....big smoke in a little cigar. Surprised me...
One of those great cigars that from the very first puff, you know what you've got...no need to imagine or figure it out. Be careful with accidentally inhaling, as it's quite powerful. Great smoke...love it. Can't go wrong. - Submitted by hellion5 on September 24, 2007
Review #102: Big flavor from this monte. This cigar has flawless construction, an easy draw with mountains of thick white smoke. All the classic monte flavors are there, with that indescribable "twang" that just let's you know you're smoking a monte. The cigar started off a bit harsh, due to its young age (ENE07), but mellowed out nicely after the first 1/5, smoothing out into a delicious medium to full bodied powerhouse of flavor. With a price that's affordable, this cigar rates very highly in my book. - Submitted by qko123 on August 30, 2007
Review #101: I've heard such good words about this cigar (and the Petit Edmundo) that I just had to try it to see for myself. I ended up smoking a few in search of all the taste notes mentioned by other smokers/reviewers. What striked me the most about this cigar is the pleasant saltiness that the blend delivers to the palate. It is a typical Montecristo. Other than that all I can say with positiveness is that the blend was very balanced, refined and satisfying. Without wanting to make anyone unhappy here, however, I feel the Bolivar Royal Corona beats this cigar anytime of the day (in Robustos size category ). It's obviously a different cigar with a different smoker in mind, but the richness and multi-dimensionality of the BRC is unbeatable. But again, that is just my opinion which doesn't necessarily mean much. - Submitted by PDL on July 17, 2007
