Review #52: This is my daily cigar which I smoke mostly after lunch but this one I smoked before noon with large cup of cappuccino. There was only a couple left from cab 2002. I just received a new cab (BPL SEP 05) and it will be interesting to compare them in couple of months. Wrapper without band on this one was shiny, without any veins and very bright, almost Colorado Claro. Cold draw indicated light bodied cigar with very subtle, nice aged tobacco. Draw was perfect, slightly resistant, just I like it. At first she stayed on the light side, with hints of grassiness but shortly mellowed down and more rounded flavors of coffee and wood evolved. She maintained this balance and profile until last third when became more powerful, maybe even to much for morning smoke and I didn’t burn fingers as I usually do. Definitely this was not one of the best from the cabinet 2002 but nevertheless one of top light-medium cigars. For me this is very similar cigar to one of my favorites - Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2. They look alike and taste quiet similar but JL it’s not as refined as Epi 2. - Submitted by Diademo on March 3, 2008
Review #51:  I am smoking one of these now, the newer banded ones (date May '07). Anyone who has read any of my reviews here before will know I try to be generous, and I don't give bad reviews for smoking one or two examples of poorly constructed cigars etc. I decided to review this one as I smoke it this time to give a more detailed insight. On lighting and through the first cm I have been unimpressed. Very unbalanced with a strong pepperyness overpowering some very light vegetal flavours with hints of burnt caramel. It is now improving slowly however, to my delight. I hate a poor cigar smoking experience. Now just starting into it's second third the flavours have picked up and the spice has calmed down. Much more enjoyable with the sweetness, caramel and coffee flavours becoming much more pronounced and balanced. It's a bitter-sweet profile I find, though not like the style of say a Montecristo, quite different. The second third was quite enjoyable with the flavour blossoming and the strength really firing up. More woodsy flavour came through. The final third quickly became unpleasant however with the burnt carmel overpowering (in the burnt department), so unfortunately I had to leave it. I have smoked far worse examples of Havanas, usually due to poor construction, though this one was superbly rolled with a good easy draw producing thick smoke. The blend of these cigars has definitely changed considerably - for the worse I'd say. They need aging, and I agree with the thought of 3-5 years. I wouldn't recomend long term aging as they aren't blended for that. Not a cigar for me, but worth trying. Smoke them slowly and gently, and if you can get the older unbanded ones they are superior. - Submitted by A. Dyer on February 2, 2008
Review #50: Something has happened with this stick. Used to be very mild and needed an effort to pick up the flavours. Bought a box recently and was very surprised by the tangy taste although a little bitter towards the end, cured by patience and age probably. Review #49: Based on my fisrt cigar smoked a couple of weeks ago from a new cab of 25 code ARO JUN 07,thoughht that I would be giving this a 10. Despite a very careful 3 match light up experienced inconsistent burn mid way which was a bit of a disapointment - however this is a terrific rich cigar, beautiful dark oily wrapper with toffee, digestive biscuit and caramel favours...certainly one to be savoured at your lesure and from my point of view right up there with the Partagas Series D....highly recommended...but given the burn problem can only give this a 9 - Submitted by berlin120 on January 2, 2008
Review #48: Hola. From a box dated in 2007, I find here a good example how a light/medium cigar could be married with class and complexity, even young it was a good smoke.
