Review #15: What a sparkplug! Rich and creamy almost buttery, building into am earthy, toasty crescendo. I was reminded of a well done steak with a cream or butter sauce at a steak house. Obiously, all of these are young, and they are smoking nicely already. They should get even better as time progresses. - Submitted by planetbetter on January 10, 2005

Review #14: On October 7 I wrote a not so positive review on this cigar. That review in short: it’s harsh and burns badly. I smoked 3 of these that time, all with the same problems. As announced in my review, because of these problems I wanted to age them for at least six months. Of course, my curiosity got the better of me, and after half that time I had to try one. So yesterday, after 3 months of aging, I fired one up. Of course when the experience would have been the same as before, I wouldn’t post this corrective review. Because you are reading this, you can already guess the cigar has changed in that 3 months. And it’s a change for the better! It still causes a harsh sensation in the back of throat when lighting, and that still disappears after a couple of puffs. After that however the taste has become quite a lot milder, with loads of spice. Where the 'green ones' became hell on earth after about half an hour (halfway), this stood his ground! The burnline was perfect, and so was the ash. A nice light grey color and extremely long! The whole cigar finished in one cone of ash, awesome! It took me a little over an hour to finish this baby. This cigar still isn’t exactly ‘my taste’, but I must admit that it does deserve the verdict ‘good cigar’. Three-and-a-half star for me (with regards to it's price), but when you’re a sucker for this taste I can definitely understand a higher score. - Submitted by Bolivar on January 5, 2005

Review #13: Very mild yet very spicy. Cedarwood, nuts and grassy vegetal flavours are most notable in this complex smoke. Beautiful construction with a very easy draw, spicy on the nose and taste buds but never really harsh when it reaches the nub. Not my size and I like fuller flavoured havanas, but this is rating the cigar, which is excellent. Just needs some maturity. If you like mild havanas and the size appeals to you this is a fantastic short post lunch cigar ;) - Submitted by A. Dyer on January 4, 2005

Review #12: Box code: JMZ SEP04: Generally I let the recently received boxes rest in my humidor for at least two months before smoking the first one however I couldn't wait that long on this one to try one. These short, fat Habanos have to be one of the funniest looking little cigars that I have ever seen but the flavor was no joke. Since I smoked it only a day after their arrival I thought that I would be in for a bad experience with a harsh tasting little cigar. Quite the opposite happened. Right from the initial lighting the Hoyo Petite Robustos was loaded with that sweet, creamy flavor that makes a Hoyo so special. I have smoked quite a few Epi 1 and 2's and have enjoyed them however the Petite Robustos blew away the other two. In my opinion this one tasted very much like a miniature Hoyo DC and was so impressed with it that I promptly ordered two more SLB's for the long run. I highly recommed this cigar and was highly amazed that it had NO ammonia smell or taste for such a new Habanos. - Submitted by Pascal on January 3, 2005

Review #11: I agree with the overall comments submitted by Mike D. I was impressed by the construction of the cigar as well as the speed at which flavour was available to the pallet. although extremely short in length, especially in proportion to its gauge, this cigar has an accelerated delivery relative to a traditional robusto. They are clearly too young to live up to their full potential at this time but given 12 to 18 months they should prove to be a lovely smoke. - Submitted by Jay K. on December 16, 2004
