Hoyo de Monterrey Doble Coronas Review:
One of the best prominentes ever made, as many of the formats from Hoyo de Monterrey, strong, with convincing aroma and taste and greasy. New Habanos can be said to have learnt from this stick, spongier than Lusitanas and Doble Coronas from Punch, it looks even bigger when you have one of them in your hand.

Review #76: Just had my first one last night. It is a 10 year old and it looks well aged with a oily wrapper. Although I am new but quite comfortable with the setting. It has got good drop not too loose like epicure 2. The first third is a good reminder that this is not going to be a light cigar so need to treat it with respect. It also give me a good introduction and preview of Hoyo's profile. When first third is ending, I can feel that he shows me the regular floral smoke of like epicure 2 and the smoke goes well and complex when it goes into and till the near last of the second third. The final third is a leathering but not too hard on my taste bud. I end it like a good love story with a sad ending but I can only part the last with with tears and in my heart I am crying out. BRAVO ! - Submitted by g00degg on May 11, 2008
Review #75: Smoked my first one tonight. It was 3 years old and recommended by my favorite shop. For the basics, excellent construction, draw and burn. I lit it once and smoked to the end. the draw was easy with a slight drag - just perfect for me. Now, as to taste. This could be the best cigar in this format. HOWEVER, it is too young at 3 years. The first 1/2 was nothing but earth and leather. Thats ok, but any decent cigar can deliver that. the second half had the same but improved somewhat with very soft undertones of herbs and coca. The palate had to search for these undertones. I don't think one should have to work so hard to find enjoyment from a cigar. I suggest that this cigar could be good when 5 - 7 years old. Befor that, it is kind of boring. Medium strength (2.5/5) - Submitted by kawasaki on April 16, 2008
Review #74: Excellent draw and nice volume of smoke. Beginning was too earthy for me, but after about 1/3 to 1/2 it turned into a nice smooth floral smoke. I was a little disappointed because it didn't have much of a kick. - Submitted by tsdresp on April 10, 2008
Review #73: It's a complex cigar, good to the last blow, gives you much smoking pleasure. With huge flavor and excellent construction, burn and condition. The smooth, beautifull giant. - Submitted by cipu on April 7, 2008
Review #72: Flavor wise, I think the newer production is but a shadow of the ones I had from '97. Never a powerhouse, the older version I found to pack alot more flavor. These are a little boring to me. - Submitted by fabio on October 28, 2007
