This is a cigar that's built to last. I just finished shmoking one and everything about it says that it still needs more time. The first 1/8th of the cigar is more reminicent of a Partagas - full on spice and pepper - not what I would expect from a Hoyo. Then it suddenly settled down to the familiar cocoa and nuts, but still with an underlying spicy backbone. At about half way it settled in to a fatter creamier flavour with more nuts and wood. It's almost like smoking a cigar in reverse. The last third developed more orange peel and spice, almost reminicent of a Montecristo. It's beautifully constructed, the burn has been consistent and even all the way through. It's not a cigar to be rushed, give it plenty of time between puffs and you'll be rewarded with much more complexity and subtlety. Όταν είχα πρωτοκάνει μερικά, πριν ενάμιση περίπου χρόνο, σχημάτισα την εντύπωση ότι πρόκειται για πούρα μικρού αναστήματος και αναρωτιόμουνα για τη λογική αυτού του LE project. Φυσικά, μια limitada δεν είναι απαραίτητα κάτι σούπερ, (πράγμα που έχουν αποδείξει κι άλλες κυκλοφορίες από σχεδόν όλες τις πρωτοκλασάτες brands, που σπείρανε ονειροφαντασίες και θερίσανε μετριότητες), αλλά ρε παιδί μου, ένα LE πρέπει να ‘χει το κάτι παραπάνω από το γενικό (υψηλό) μέσο όρο, για να αποδεχθεί κανείς την όλη φιλολογία της ύπαρξης του. Λοιπόν, αυτό το πούρο εξακολουθεί να με απογοητεύει, σίγουρα είναι καλύτερο τώρα, αλλά σε ένα επίπεδο μίζερα μέτριο. Τι να την κάνω την άρτια κατασκευή, το colorado oil wrapper και τα διπλά του δαχτυλίδια. Φαίνεται πως δεν «ανέρρωσε» ποτέ, (κάτι που ούτε στο μέλλον βλέπω να γίνεται). Δεν μου έκανε ούτε ένα «κλικ». This cigar is exquisite, worth of beeing a Hoyo de Monterrey. The spicy,peppery and subtle wood notes turns this mere "little" one into a big smoke. Compared to the EL Piramides back then its a more complex cigar. A pleasure to smoke such a stick - Submitted by DG on January 9, 2009
