Review #23: This is the first time I tried this cigar and it is excellent. It is well constucted, has an even burn, a really nice draw, and flavors of coffee, vanilla and cream. This is straight from a box from 2004. This should get a lot better given about a year or two in a humidor. - Submitted by hjrnunez on February 3, 2005
Review #22: Just finished another one of these classics, box code EAC NOV 00. I have about 20 boxes of these in my humidor all from a 2000 production run. I can not believe how consistant these are from box to box. The first few boxes i purchased from switzerland were classic, bloom forming on the top layer, i began to become teary eyed when i seen this. I was so impressed i ordered 10 more boxes, then at christmas time they had a special of 200.00 per box USD. I ordered another 10 boxes. The consistency from box to box is unbelievable, even though the wrappers vary from box to box, the flavors and aromas are indenticle. Classic warm cuban cedar is noted, as well as the musty heady aroma and flavors that only an HUPMANN can provide. There are aromas of freshly ground espresso and freshly shaved chocolate, add to that vanilla beans and a some what roasted peanut flavor and you have a classic HUPMANN no 2. I tried some of the Monty no 2 that are availabe, and they no way compare to the well aged Hupmann from 2000 productions. i am still looking to get more boxes from this production run, the only problem is comming up with the money. I will have to borrow the money to buy the rest of the 00 runs that are available - Submitted by bigyesta on January 31, 2005
Review #21: I love this cigar. I purchased a 2nd box immediately following smoking one.
A great smoke. - Submitted by jon on January 12, 2005
Review #20: What a feast! Smooth and mellow, well rounded, the HU no.2 is not at all a lighter replica of the highly praised MC no.2. It's a sophisticated smoke, with a large area of undertones (cocoa, beans, vanilla, cream), developing in progression as you smoke it. IMO, it's better rolled than the MC, it also has a "punch" that other HU sometimes lack and, above all, it provides an hour of equal pleasure for the aficionado. Smoke it carefully, don't puff it too often: you'll be rewarded with a great smoking experience. - Submitted by Razvan Voncu on December 28, 2004
Review #19: I just added another 8 boxes from a 2000 production run to my collection. I cant believe how consistant these cigars are, the original boxes i purchased several months ago had all the classic signs of proper aging, the square press, the bloome forming on the top layers, the aroma and silky feel. I tried one from each of the boxes i received and am truly amazed that the flavors and aromas are exactly the same as the other boxes. The flavors are true classic cuban, even the twang that others refer to is present. If you get a chance to buy any from the 2000 year snap them up in a second you will be glad you did. - Submitted by YESTAGRANDE on December 16, 2004
