Review #43: This cigar left me wanting more and just not my taste. To much earth and ginger. I will give low score on my personal taste as some love this flavor profile for a cigar. But for me not impressed at all. - Submitted by sticksmoker on August 3, 2007
Review #42: Hmmm... I recently aquired one of these as part of a sampler pack and I wasn't expecting much - after all, Upmann is one of the more commonly encountered Cubans. To be honest, construction and burn were terrible, with at least one plug and persistent tunneling throughout - despite a decent period in the humi. But the TASTE...! Seriously, this is one of the best cigars I've ever tasted, all super smooth leather and cream - right to the end. Just fantastic. Despite the problems, I'm considering ordering a box of these. A well constructed example must surely be among the best cigars available today. - Submitted by DJP on July 31, 2007
Review #41: I wish I checked the box date when I smoked this because it was simply the best torpedo I've ever had! I found it has some earthy flavors with faint hints of pepper. I like this one way better than the Monte #2.
Has a wonderful aroma. Just try and make sure it's been aged for a while. Lucky for me I think mine had to of been at least two to three years of age. - Submitted by cigar are good on June 21, 2007
Review #40: Box Code ROA JUN 06.I have smoked a few right out of the box and find the Upmann to be a good stick but not great!Exellent construction and burn but found the taste not very complex and one dimensional! Just not in the same arena with the Parti#2 or the Monte#2. maybe they need more time in the humi! Will get back in 6 mos or so!Happy smoking gang. - Submitted by ami61154 on June 8, 2007
Review #39: Smoked the first from a box dated June 2006. The prelit aroma was a mixture of earthiness and cocoa, somewhat reminiscent of my tour through the Hershey's chocolate factory. It was pretty mild through 2/3 and less complex than I though it would be, then built strength during the final third. Seemed to have traces of ammonia and I will let these sit for awhile before smoking more. The burn was even, never required correction. - Submitted by gregglantos on May 19, 2007
