Review #221: This is a reliable, enjoyable cigar for me. Haven't yet encountered any that were less than excellent, and I have now smoked over 15 of these from various boxes. One little niggle I have with them is their somewhat stubborn reluctance to remain alight at times. Mostly I notice this from about the halfway point onwards. I don't know if it's just that I slow down and give the cigar more time to extinguish, but I doubt it. Still, the flavours are wonderful and the aroma is pretty close to the definative Cuban in my mind. Hope to enjoy many more! - Submitted by Tony38 on August 29, 2008

Review #220: DEC 94 On Saturday night i opened one of 5 boxes of these dated DEC 94 (Box Code NISE) my father was given while we were on holiday in Cuba in 95 by a family friend who worked in the partagas factory office. Anyway, let me tell you that words alone almost cannot describe how creamy smooth these babies were. Very nicely constructed, Good weight in hand, perfect pre-lit draw and the wrappers were of a beautiful rich oily golden brown color with just the right amount of bloom over them. As all of you know this is the sign of a perfectly aged & stored cigar. And what a treat it was. It had a real smooth mild tobacco flavour and a mild earthy taste with lite hues of chocolate, vanilla and sweet wood with none of the spiciness like a much younger one of these has - not that im complaining. Ash was a perfect white/grey color with plumes of beautiful blue/white smoke which left a gorgeous aroma in the air. What an experience after a great spit roast barbeque with the boys. After smoking two of these one after the other and almost burning my lips twice it left a beautiful taste in my mouth for a few hours with none of the notoriously famous cigar breath the next morning. A real CLASSIC and one of the best robustos from the great island of CUBA, i am sure many of you will agree. Well done to PARTAGAS for a tue legend. - Submitted by thetim on August 5, 2008

Review #219: It is my 1st smoke on this well-known robusto. Well-contruction, even-burn, whie-ash and smooth-draw. The aroma and taste is too complex. It's a real full-body cigar and I think it must be more suitable after great dinner and enjoy the this D-4. - Submitted by ericryan on July 31, 2008

Review #218: JAN 08 Now finished the box I reviewed #213, wouldn't of thought it possible but they got even better. I have recently bought the Upmann Robusto travel humidor which has an individual solid cedar surround to insert six cigars separately - this infuses a wonderful additional flavour and aroma to the Serie D when I place them here for even just a few days. I have ordered another of these so I can cure 12 at once. Also waiting on my next box of Serie D to arrive. The box I just smoked were powerful in every way and superior to Cohiba Robusto and RASS which I also smoke regularly. The flavours are constantly evolving throughout the smoke, I would describe as pure rich tobacco taste and this box was comparible to the ones I used to buy before they became so well known and popular. Note: The Upmann Robustos are very good too, but not in the same league as these. - Submitted by ian on July 22, 2008

Review #217: JAN 08 This is a great looking cigar. This prelight aroma is wonderful even without much aging. Wrapped in a grease shinny wrapper is a blend of complex and intense flavor. Very different from R&J Short Churchill and Monty Edmundo, this cigar got a very strong taste. I found the draw a little bit tight but overall the construction and flavor is very good and it lights for an hour and a half which makes it even better. 9/10! - Submitted by im_2_real on July 6, 2008
