Review #111: I have always enjoyed this cigar over the years since it consistently supplied the power and taste I enjoy in a Cuban. However it has always struck me as a bit one dimensional in its flavor relying on strengh as opposed to complexity.
I recently purchased five three packs marked Oct '05 and have smoked three sticks so far. These are the best Series D's I have ever come across combining both strength and complexity and resulting in a marvelous smoke that surprisingly is ready to be smoked right now. I went back and bought ten more packs for aging from the same production date. - Submitted by John Smith - NJ on June 3, 2006
Review #110: partagas partagas.... one of my fravourite cigar. bought a box from swiss. it got a very robust and strong taste...when reaching the end the flavour just gets heavier and spicer! the typical character of a d4! its a must try for thoes who like heavy bodied cigar!enjoy your smoke mates !!!!! - Submitted by KelvinChia on May 10, 2006
Review #109: I've smoked 2 of these in the last week. They are excellent smokes.I'm not an expert on Cubans yet,but this one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. An hour long peppery, woody smoke with a hint of coffe & mocha flavors that gets creamier as you smoke it.Nice finish.Packs a heavy nicotine punch.Make sure you smoke it on a full stomache. - Submitted by afuentelover on May 6, 2006
Review #108: It took me a while to really warm up to the "Partagas flavors". I've sampled about a dozen of these robustos from different boxes over the past 3 years and they never gave me anything to "write home about" unitl now. I decided to let a few rest for a little over a year now and man does it make a difference. I had one tonight after a delicious medium rare rib eye with a bottle of a '97 Chianti and it was a a perfect a manage-a-trios. The D4 flavors along with it's aroma were absolutely intoxicating. Unlike the others I've tried, this one had the perfect draw with a burn and ash that is expected of a premium habanos... didn't have to touch it up once. I smoked this one down to a 1/4 inch...I never did that with a D4 before! I'll always have a few of these in my box, however, I'm with #107 & #106...I wouldn't trade any of my RASS SS's for them. - Submitted by D.C. Park on May 6, 2006
Review #107: I'm with reviewer #106, the construction, draw and burn were all great, aroma was good and maybe better than the flavor, which was one demensional, with a main base note of leather with no real fractional nuances off the main note, maybe with more aging it would fair better. these should be on your list for a try, and personally I think this one beats the Cohiba Robusto, but I think the King is still the RASS (Ramone Allones Specially Selected) - Submitted by wheelinco on April 27, 2006
