To reviewer #4, the only Partagás cigars of that kind of size I know of, are the Chicos and Londres Finos, the latter being 129mm by 40 guage, the former 109mm (I think) by 29 guage (ie panatella). Have a search for them. The Charlottes, however, is a very nice med-full flavoured charlota cigar. While I tend not to prefer long, thin cigars these are very enjoyable if you do. Slight complexity of flavours, classic Partagás earhtyness and spice with some subtle nuances of ground coffee and woods. Usually well rolled for a thin guage Havana, well worth a try if you like the size :-) - Submitted by A. Dyer on June 5, 2006

Review #4:

Last week in Belgium I found a few cigars which I think are a 124mm long version of the 35 ring gauge Partagas "Charlottes". The weight was between 5 and 6 grammes. I do not know the cigar name as the shopkeeper had them in an Aristocrats box. I would guess the age at about 12 to 18 months. The draw was somewhat tight over the last few cm but the aroma was absolutely excellent during a 50 minute or so smoke with a couple of re-lights. The burn was very regular for about 30 minutes and then there was a 3 to 4mm variation over a short period. After this the burn was quite level again and the quality was as good at the end as at the beginning. I would value any other information so I can make a purchase of these delightful cigars. - Submitted by thedoctor on June 5, 2006

This vitola is one of my favorite Partagas reminiscent of the "old world" Partagas flavor. The strength and complexity of this unique size cigar is indeed deceptive. I have not smoked any recent production (although I have heard they started releasing them again) but the 98s are smoking wonderfully. Starts out with a nice medium body and earthy tones then picks up in the strength and spice, ending in an expresso flavor. Never bitter or harsh, but lower humidity will help keep from getting a tight draw. - Submitted by smokering on November 4, 2004

Well, even by accident, I managed to find this vitola in Romania! The smokes in the box were very young, but they dind't taste the ammonia. They certainly need at least 6 months in the humidor, to mellow the different undertones and notes in a definite cigar. Still, I can say the "Charlottes" are very good: well rolled, good draw, even burn. The taste is surprisingly strong for this gauge, and the flavors, very bold. I could notice it will develop, later, smooth undertones of leather, cedar and dark beans. Very pleasant aftertaste, also. They need to rest, however. - Submitted by Razvan Voncu on October 31, 2004
