Review #7: There are other Corona Gordas out there and some are more to my taste -- but this is still a great change of pace -- Lighter than most, with a great draw and good flavors -- not a favorite but I'll keep some in my humidor for when the time is right. - Submitted by butch on November 26, 2006

Review #6: OK....Here's the plan, purchase premium cuban cigars to be aged in my humidor for special times and holidays...NOW, to keep me away from the good stuff i buy the so-called cheaper brands of cubans to smoke so i can continue my aging plan...lol. The Rafael G. is IMHO the go-to stick in my humi. to keep "THE PLAN" in motion, i find this cigar to be very satisfyingly good to keep me happy while the good stuff is doing it's thing. The taste is suprisingly good to what a person may think of these cheaper cigars...creamy, woodsy and grassy, thats what i like about these these sticks. - Submitted by johnnysmoke on November 24, 2006

Review #5: I am a devoted corona gorda fan, whenever i need a good, lasting smoke. I have tried them all, apart from this one. Its time to give my opinion about this vitola. Construction is excellent, with no tight parts. The wrapper is smooth and oily. Lights easily, burns evenly and offers ample amounts of smoke. Starts of with grassy tastes, baked nuts, dark chocolate. This gives place to earthy cedary tones, light leather, and pepper. Personally I would say this is a good corona gorda, but not one of the best. Go after the Magnum 46, Punch Punch or the Siglo IV. An ok smoke, priced just right. - Submitted by Dimitris in Athens - Greece on May 28, 2005

Review #4: Gifted this cigar from a RSE JUN01 box code. I have to say that this cigar is extremely light and in my opinion not very satisfying. The flavours are rather disappointingly bland and the cigar is further marred by construction problems. I was expecting much more from this cigar particularly as mine was well aged. - Submitted by Graham UK on May 18, 2005

Review #3: This is a beautiful cigar to look at, with a distinctive oily cordovan wrapper and a stout appearance in the dress box. It needs time -- the legend on the box doesn't lie. Smoke one during the first year after production and be disappointed. Give it a few years in the box, and be amazed. The flavor profile is relatively consistent throughout the stick, and very unusual. There is some new mown hay (is that the 'grassy element' referred to in another review?). But the dominant tone is fresh baked gingerbread with dark chocolate frosting -- I know of no other way to describe it. Not a particularly strong or heady cigar. At its best, the draw is good, building from relatively modest at the start and building to a crescendo in the last third. Alas, in my experience there are boxes that contain far too many overstuffed examples that will not draw at all, a terrific disappointment and a terrible waste. However, these are usually modestly priced, and at their best, they offer a very worthwhile cigar experience. Not so good examples rate perhaps 5.5 to 7; the best examples are 8 to 9. - Submitted by chambolle on May 9, 2004
