Review #12: Diplomatico No.5 OEB DIC 06 I’ve tried three of these, on the construction / draw, 1 was loosely filled, 1 was very tight and the one I just finished was on the firm side. The last sample was light–medium bodied and the smoke was plentiful. Flavour very nice with definite light pepper, some back ground of raisin and possibly some sweeter baking spice. In the second half there was an almost buttery note. Near the end I felt it had some almost bread flavour and this cigar smoked smoothly to the end. I’m slowly trying a lot of different cigars to determine what will be on the “MUST have in the humidor at all times” list. For this size range so far I have the Partagas Short and the Siglo 1 and am looking at some others for the colder months, to vary things up. As enjoyable as this Dip 5 is, and it is a very nice cigar, it’s not on The List at this time. - Submitted by randallp on October 21, 2007

Review #11: a good short smoke in the morning or after lunch. goes well with strong coffee or red wine. i've experienced that 1 in 4 of these sticks can be a bit tough to draw on. not very complex, just straight up good Cuban tobacco taste and aroma. - Submitted by chrisboy on July 30, 2007

Review #10: This cigar is unbelievable. I have only had the Dip 2 before and I was expecting a lighter smoke, however, if you're looking for a smaller package of the Dip 2, the Dip 5 is not the cigar for you. Small and bold, this little cigar smokes medium-heavy. The flavours are much better than the Montecristo 5 and that's saying a lot because the Monte 5 is a great cigar too. This cigar is the perfect cigar size for lunch. The draw and construction are flawless. The Diplomaticos has my favourite band of all the Habanos, so I am biased when it comes to the appearance. I was so impressed by the aromas and flavours of this little stick that I bought a box immediately. If these weren't so good I'd worry less about having to wait to age them, but they're damn good and unfortunately I'm going to have to wait. It's hard to believe how good these will get with a few years of age. - Submitted by cookj1 on June 7, 2007

Review #9: Marvellous flawless construction, great character, easy draw, nice earthy flavour from the beginning. Morning coffee, this little stick, Compay Segundo on the air...what a nice day! - Submitted by sasha on May 1, 2007

Review #8: Excellent Cuban in a small package. Have smoked Monty 5 for years, but this medium bodied cigar, although produced in the same factory, carries a lot more muscle. The two that I enjoyed last weekend were virgin from a box dated ABR 06. The draw was very good and burned evenly for the whole 40 to 45 minutes. Aroma of earth tones and pepper were prevalent. Aging will only enhance this fine cigar and will make Monty lovers shiver. - Submitted by Don Diego on September 7, 2006
