Review #57: Value is very difficult to define; what one considers expensive can often be in direct relation to the expectation of the outcome. Enter the Siglo II - based on previous forays into the Cohiba line, my own expectations were that I would be handling an exceptionally constructed and crafted cigar that would smoke well and be multi-dimensional in flavour; and I was not disappointed. Offered my friends humidor last evening after an al fresco bbq dinner I had a choice of P2s, D4s, Cohiba Sublimes or the Siglo IIs. I chose the IIs and was presented with a very beautiful mareva; vein-free, firm yet spongy and, unlit, a deep cedar nose. Taking great care to light it, my first draw was deep and rewarded with a BIG mouthful of creamy, thick smoke. That a firmly rolled and packed stick can be reminiscent of the "loose" draws of the R&Js and readily give up so much of that wonderful vuelta abajo flavour without hernia-inducing "sucking" was testament to the ability of the torcedor and I knew I had something special in my hand. Incredibly even burn was matched by a very full tobacco flavour; you knew you had some great leaf in their and the proportions of ligero to seco were, for my own palate, ideal. Yes, Cohibas ARE expensive, but so are Rolex's and Merc's. For me, this was the best smoke I have had in a very long time - worth it! - Submitted by Uncle on February 14, 2007
Review #56: Certainly one of my favourite cigars! I tend to smoke one most evenings and have not been dissapointed yet. Always well constructed and good looking. I notice review 54's comment about the draw. There is a good point here because the draw on this Siglo is "harder" than on any of the others, but I have never had the bad draw described there.
I always find a nice even burn and a near perfect white cylinder of ash. The taste is nearly always consistenly full.

Review #55:  Yesterday I smoked a Trinidad Reyes, today this Cohiba. It's the first time I've smoked one of these, and I really like it. I'm still on it, about to knuckles, and the taste really changes. Started very strong, then got mellow and smooth and real nice. With a sweet sherry, I think this is the best cigar experience I've had (yet). I'm new to this world, so I'm giving it a 7. Review #54: Very disappointed with this stick. One from a tube with much promise pre burn, however a draw which in the first inch or so made my skull implode! On inspection the tobacco was incredibly tightly wrapped with no give; I doubt maturing in a humidor could save this one. The quality was there in the tobacco; slight silage smell which I love and mixed with faint toasted cumin sweetness, but it never did it for me. Will mark it well as it is unfair to judge on one experience, but until next time I will reserve judgment. Now where did I leave my Bolivar Lonsdales?! - Submitted by Yonmusak on January 15, 2007
