Cohiba Piramides LE 2001 Review:
This cigar isn't particularly 'Cohiban', nor is it typically Cuban. The construction is outstanding, however the wrapper is not the usual thrice-fermented Cohiba style, but rather the '2nd generation' of the 2 year-old dark reddish-brown special edition wrappers. This cigar burns very evenly, a testament to its superior construction. It is medium in body, not strong - with much spice and pepper tones, and a touch of leather and chocolate notes. Further on it became slightly acidic on the lips, and showed other signs of youth - so it will improve with ageing. In six months to 2 years, this cigar may well become a highly unique smoke with unusual brand characteristics, and prized for its rarity considering the limited availability.

Review #28: After few months in my humidor I choose to try this Piramide which I got last year as a gift. Wrapper color and texture were not indicated that I can aspect anything special but smell was just wonderful. Pre draw announced that I will deal with well aged tobacco on medium spectrum of strength. First few puffs contained tender aromas of spices which soon transformed to smooth smoking. She remained on this level until very end, when I detected some additional strength which was not overpowering the whole performance. Usually I’m looking for some positive changes during smoking but with this cigar I was happy that this never occurred. Flavors of coffee, coco and cream were so well balanced and rounded that I could continue with smoking for hours. This was one of the best cigars I had in months and I just feel bad because I didn’t buy at least a box when they were still available. I just hope that re-edition from 2006 has similar characteristics as this one. - Submitted by Diademo on January 29, 2008
Review #27: I smoked yesterday the 1st stick from a SCU AGO 02 box and i wonder... Is there anything smoother than this cigar?? It is like drinking JW blue label... My favorite cigar was HU Magnum 50, but now is this fantastic thing. If yoy have the oportunity buy as many you can!! - Submitted by DDimas on September 17, 2007
Review #26: I first smoked these while on vacation in Rivera Maya in 2002 and they have been my favorite ever since. Great complexity with outstanding flavor. They have aged beautifully for the past 4 years in my humidor and have mellowed without losing any of the flavor. Great smoke! - Submitted by syc on December 11, 2006
Review #25: I love this piramide and consider it to be the benchmark against which I measure any other piramides . It's the only cigar of any shape or size that I would rate 10 for taste, through out from begging to finish . Excellent construction ,flavor, and aged perfectly. It's even better than the piramides millennium which is very good in its own right. My only wish is for the L.E 2006 piramides to age and become the same as I only have 4 left. - Submitted by Essam on December 10, 2006
