Review #17: Tom, i have both cigars, like you.
However, both have distictive taste and are two different cigars. The Esplendido is smoothe and taste, but the HDM DC is just the same...but different.
I like them both and equally cherish them both. Smoke the HDM DC and let me know.
I'm fairly young to tasting standards, but I do know what i like.
Let me know what you think of the DC and i'll keep checking your postings...
chilli.
Oh yea, this cigar is still a fabulous smoke! - Submitted by chilli on April 4, 2004
Review #16: Box date ABR03. My favorite Cuban of this size to date, I have a fresh box of Lusitanias that may be a contender with time. I've smoke 17 out of the box, construction overall has been just a hair shy of perfect. I have another box that I haven't opened, I sure hope they're as good. I may need to try the HDM DC again someday, I got a box of those a couple of years ago and the draw was impossibly tight on about 75% of them even after a couple of years in a humidor maintained at 65%. This is a very mellow but rich cigar, I find it a perfect match for a good bourbon or strong dark Belgian ale. This cigar (at least my box!) lives up to the legend. - Submitted by tomhowzer on April 3, 2004
Review #15: This beautiful cigar is one of the best Cohibas and also one of the best Churchills coming from Cuba. It has an good draw, even burn and delivers loads of aroma without ever becoming harsh. Medium to full bodied. - Submitted by NobbyR on April 2, 2004
Review #14: El alma de Cuba.ESPLENDIDOS the right name for a sensational cigar. Great construction, great Cohiba aroma, well burning. Thank for all Cuba and high five to my cuban friend PLACIDO. - Submitted by DON PABLO Especialista habanero on April 2, 2004
Review #13: '99 edition started with pronounced blackpepper tone mixed with tangy and sharp edged tobacco flavors...further developing creamy, leathery, nutty and toasted cedar hints. Surprisingly strong and potent. Ageable. - Submitted by olateone on March 13, 2004
