Bolivar Coronas Review:

An extremely well made cigar. Its taste is neither strong nor medium; we could say it is half way between the two of them. With a progressive aroma and flavour, the smoker will enjoy it not only for the whole 45 minutes it lasts lit but also noticing its great aftertaste. Good combustion and excellent texture.

Review #21: --- 84 Second stick of an aged three pack I managed to get, this time to savour on its own without drink. As per my review #19, the flavours are more discernible with some herbaceous notes at the start. Not as full bodied smoke as anticipated but still full of flavour with a strong kick to it. Burns dead even yielding a dense white ash. - Submitted by sengjc on October 29, 2010

Review #20: ---   New to cigars and this is a great smoke. Mellow and tasty, thick creamy smoke with a definate flavour. My palette is not that experienced for flowery description, but i enjoyed it immensley, muuc more than the punch petit coronas earlier today. Get some in. - Submitted by shotgun on October 2, 2010

Review #19: --- 84 One of three from a local retailer's aged stock. After a short spell in the humidor, I cannot help but to try one. Prelit aromas of black pepper. Very well made with a finely veined, milk coffee coloured wrapper with a slight lustre of oiliness. Tangy bean flavours with sweetness. Uncharacteristically medium bodied but typical Bolivar spice, plenty of it. Cedary notes and dark chocolate aftertaste. Quite complex, mellow flavours emerge after the first third and last through to the end. Some leathery notes towards the final quarter. Earthy finish and long aftertaste. Lots of thick, sweet scented smoke. Silky and smooth. A testament to the Bolivar's mythical ageability but not its legendary strength and power. I will not keep the other two waiting much longer. A Bolivar with delicate flavours to be enjoyed now, preferably on its own. I did a mistake of sipping some Japanese malt at the second third. While the cigar accentuated the fruitiness of the malt, sadly the malt flavours overpowered the cigar, which would not likely have been the case were this cigar a young Bolivar. A better pairing would have been a XO Cognac from the Petit or Grande Champagne appellations, in particular from the house of Delamain or Remy Martin. - Submitted by sengjc on September 1, 2010

Review #18: JUN 05 Excellent cigar. A little rounder than 06 which was last year before discontinued. Glad I found a box. - Submitted by jdbrown on August 8, 2009

Review #17: NOV 06 Smoked my first ever Boli Corona last night. I've really been missing something! A smooth beautiful wrapper is quite misleading. This is a rustic cigar. Strong & so earthy it tastes like you're smoking Cuban dirt. If you like an earthy flavor profile in your cigar, this is a winner. If not, don't try these. - Submitted by Bassman on June 18, 2009
