Review #27: This is one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. I have never experienced such a unique taste, which could be loosely characterized as salty and citrusy. Review #26: To Mr. Coolburn: Tobacco blend is not the only factor that defines a cigar. The format plays an important role in the determining the optimal combustion too. Everybody amongst our group found this cigar too light when smoked slowly and those who tried smoking faster found that the Bolivar Belicosos can support a relatively high combustion rate while giving a more intense flavor without turning bitter or overly hot. Interestingly the various robustos and even piramides are not amenable to power-smoking as the companas are. - Submitted by tang on November 2, 2004
Review #25: In response to Tang's post,I must stongly disagree. It is the blend of tobaccos used that will make a cigar "strong". I cannot believe that any experienced smoker would advise you to smoke a good Cuban cigar that quickly. That would ruin all the pleasure of it. The Bolivar Belicoso Fino remains one of the richest and most flavorful cigars there is. Try the cabinet version,which does come a 25 cigar version. Review #24: This is one awesome smoke - packed with delicious, full-on, earthy tobacco flavor. In my experience, sticks from a cabinet (SLB) are generally a tad richer than ones from a dress box. Review #23: I thought this cigar was supposed to be strong but I found it only about medium so I talked to an oldtimer about the general mildness of the campana formats. He told me that I was just not smoking them right. Every format has an optimal smoking style, he said, and he finished the Bolivar Belicosos in less than 15 minutes. I strapped on my seatbelts and tried. Surprisingly the cigar did not turn bitter, maybe owing to it's short format. It was a sublime experience.
